DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Karen believes in the beauty of everyday spaces. Her design goal is to achieve the vision and meet the needs of those who live in the space, and to create an environment that just feels right.
BACKGROUND
Undergraduate and graduate degrees in Architecture from the University of Michigan. Kitchen and bath design for the past 6 years, with 10 years prior experience in residential architecture firms.
INTERESTS
As a relatively new transplant to the north woods, Karen seeks and appreciates all the amazing biking, hiking, and kayaking spots our area has to offer.
Amber Smith
Design / Sales
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Noticing and analyzing elements of good design such as room flow, and spaces tailored to the lifestyle of the family who lives in the home.
BACKGROUND
Amber has always loved design, and has been in the kitchen and bath design business since 2017.
INTERESTS
Amber loves exploring the outdoors with her son, hiking, kayaking, and enjoying bonfires with friends and family.
Cara Green

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Cara is passionate about developing projects and spaces that embody timeless, creative, and practical designs that solve complex issues and incorporate client needs and desires.
BACKGROUND
Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Adrian College, and over 10 years of experience in the design industry.
INTERESTS
Cara enjoys spending time exploring all that northern Michigan has to offer with her husband Claude and their pup Lilah by camping, hiking, exploring ORV trails, catching sunsets at their favorite beach in Eastport and spending time with family.
Amelia Balko
Design / Sales
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Amelia values the qualities of both functional and aesthetic design. A space can be beautiful but also work well for those who use it. Above all — it’s your home, your space and you should love it!
BACKGROUND
With a degree from WMU in Interior Architecture/Design and nearly 10 years of experience in the design industry, Amelia has a diverse background that includes healthcare design, residential design, designing luxury custom carpets, as well as high ropes challenge courses.
INTERESTS
As an avid animal-lover, Amelia and her husband enjoy spending time with their sweet pup Rider and their spunky tuxedo cat, Sully. They all love the outdoors and will happily be found camping, hiking, kayaking and biking in any kind of weather! She also passionately serves as the Director of Children’s Ministry at City Church.
